Van Jones to CAP? Apparently Not

The New York Daily News reports that Van Jones has taken a job at the Center for American Progress, noting that the former Obama administration green jobs guru landed quickly on his feet following his resignation over the Labor Day weekend.

But TWI’s sources over at CAP say it’s simply not true. Asked whether Jones would be returning to the progressive think tank, a well-placed source at CAP said, “Not to my knowledge, no.” Ben Smith also confirmed with CAP Senior Vice President for Communications Jennifer Palmieri that the Daily News report is false.

Jones was a senior fellow at CAP before joining the administration in March.

Update: Now Palmieri says that Jones has been offered office space at CAP, though he will not be working for the organization. “Van was as senior fellow here at CAP and a good friend of ours, and we have offered office space for him to work out of while he figures out what he wants to do next,” she told Politico. “We don’t believe he’s decided what job he wants.”
