‘Some People Do Bad Things’

After going back and forth with Feith — in which Feith conceded there were indeed abuses in Defense Dept. detention and interrogation operations – Rep. Bobby Scott (D.-Va) asked why the abusers might think they could torture detainees. “I don’t believe they necessarily did think they did” have authority to torture, Feith said. “Some people do bad things.”
A former Human Rights First attorney, Deborah Perlstein, gently read into the record the testimony of a Chief Warrant Officer tried for murder at Abu Ghraib. The individual in question said that he thought he was allowed to suffocate a detainee in a sack because of “a memo written by Gen. Sanchez,” the U.S. commander in Iraq from 2003 to 2004, who in September 2003 accepted a series of suggestions from Maj. Gen. Geoffrey Miller, then the Guantanamo commander, to “Gitmo-ize” Abu Ghraib. Miller’s trip to see Sanchez, of course, occurred on behalf of and with the full knowledge of the Defense Dept.
“I don’t think there’s a dispute that people misbehaved,” Feith said defiantly.

What could be a greater historical irony that the Jewish neocons could have led the charge in transforming America into the closest thing to a Nazi torture-state it has ever been in its history. These neocons had the same true believer ruthless pragmatism as the SS: Anything was justified by the needs of their master, LIkud Israel, for whom America’s proxy war in Iraq was created by these nuts. It’s a tragedy for Israel, even more than for America, that the arrogant folly of these jerks has led to $4 gas and an American economy on the brink of Depression, which has fuelled a lot of rage against Israel’s control of Bush foreign policy in the blogosphere already. Now John Bolton tells us in today’s WSJ that Israel and the neocons are going to be crazy enough to bomb Iran, thus giving the American masses $15 gas at the pump and unaffordable heating oil, not to mention wiping out the poor schnooks’ savings when the stock market crashes producing a worldwide Depression. Bolton argues that his rich WSJ readers should all stand firm with Israel in this bombing, knowing that these Republican fat cats are getting a little tired of Israel and the neocons, since they have virtually eviscerated the Republican Party already with their debacle in Iraq and its result in the economy. Bolton knows that these traditional Republicans are getting very wary when it comes to Israel’s bombing Iran, because these fat cats know that if Israel does this, and gives Joe Sixpack $15 gas as an open and immediate result, this will not only turn the American mob against Israel overnight, but will also annihilate the Republicans tarred with the neocon brush at the polls in November, possibly driving the party into the wilderness for a generation, as Bush and the neocons have almost done already, a la Hoover.

Another of the Bush/Cheney sociopaths like Perle, Wolfowitz, Rumsfeld, Addington, to whom the lives of others mean nothing, but their own means everything.
