The US motor car once the leader if not originator of automobile manufacture, still remains a leader, especially in design, no longer has a frame, the frame has been replaced by air bags, required car seats for children, TV, audible and visible maps, if not phones, a far greater concern imposed by the US government for fuel economy, something had to give, so it was the frame, ain’t life great! I say why not try using the train, the East Coast system seems to make a lot more sense than continued expansion of road, highway and bridge, if not restrictions of the automobile industry, hopefully the bridge will not collapse as unable to bear the strain and weight of rush hour traffic, bumper to bumper cars if not trucks and big ‘ins. Why not take a train, “leave the driving to us” which is done on the East Coast, very little if any pollution to mass transit?

The car lasts longer, tends to be more durable, reflects what Detroit likes to make, an engine that turns over at 100,000 not turns in, comfort for 4 adults, head and leg room and factory air, nice colors that blend in with the horizon not garish colors that make you squint. Do we have to bring in N. Korea so as to be permitted to use the train, bus, mass transit rather than pick up “the dead” from the mini-compact which does not just resemble a motor cycle, occupants could not withstand much of crash, regardless of the airbag. Detroit ain’t my home, but it’s got my heart, if it weren’t for government would there be unions, driving up the cost of everything, everywhere.
