When Analogies Go Wrong

I can’t be the only person to have winced a little at this color in Joseph Curl’s ultra-sarcastic write-up of a speech by Vice President Joe Biden.

Mr. Biden also asserted that the program “saved or created 150,000 jobs in the first 100 days,” and reiterated the administration’s pledge to save or create another 600,000 in the second hundred days. But that’s where facts and fiction, like two Amtrak trains on the same track, collided.

Oh, well. It’s not like Washington-area commuters have witnessed any train crashes recently.

Curl must be one of those people who makes such gaffs, then blunders on, oblivious to the protestations of his readers.

“Ah, get over it!” He would say. “It's Just Another Train Wreck, and no one was hurt this time around!”
