Salafism and Wahhabism must be extirpated from the earth. This could be done, without jeopardizing Gulf oil shipments, by the oil-for-food program: “either send us your oil, or you don't get food”. NATO warships would blast any ship carrying food to Saudi Arabia out of the water; bombers would take care of land convoys. A democratic republic would replace the Salafi monarchy and the Wahhabi clergy would be executed. The British Raj did this with that horrible Thugee/Kali cult in India and the U.S. and allies can do this here. All it would take is the political will, something sorely lacking (e.g., that embarassing bow to Abdullah).
