Hell, they even gave weapons, RPG,s and rockets to a group of mujahideen (repeatedly!) to try to either kill or grab OBL or bomb his bases.<br><br>None of it worked. <br><br>But what I find even more damning is the revelation that relying on long-distance bombing <a href="http://www.gwu.edu/~nsarchiv/NSAEBB/NSAEBB253/index.htm" rel="nofollow">actually made things worse</a>.
