Blanche Lincoln: No on Public Option

So reports the Arkansas News, which found the Arkansas Democratic senator in Little Rock Tuesday telling a group of reporters that the public option represents a new entitlement program that the country can’t afford.

I’m not going to vote for a bill that’s not deficit-neutral, and I’m not going to vote for a bill that doesn’t do something about curbing the cost in the out years, because it would be pointless … I would not support a solely government-funded public option. We can’t afford that.

Of course, there’s a lot of hedging going on in that statement, which seems to leave room for a public option that would be created by the government but funded solely by patient premiums — the model many Democrats hope to enact. The patient savings, under such a plan, would arise because the government wouldn’t have an enormous advertising budget, wouldn’t pay its executives millions of dollars, and doesn’t have any fiduciary duty to shareholders.

Of course, until the Senate Finance Committee unveils its bill, most of these lawmaker claims, for-and-against individual provisions, are speculative. We’d probably be better off to ignore them until then.

She is a wholly-owned subsidiary of financial and insurance industry lobbyists. Her action figure comes with big fluffy kneepads already installed.

A friend of mine named Jason Tolbert is very unhappy with all the Republicans running for US Senate in Arkansas. He runs a blog called tolbert report and he told me. He saw Senator Lincoln speak yesterday. As a retired member of the military he has seen a lot of malarkey and smoke blowing. That performance she gave was right up there. Evidently, what he heard was true, she has become a paid for senator by big business and she is goose stepping right along Obama's brownshirts as they lead the rest of us to a fascist state.

Jason heard a few people afterwards in the parking lot talking about a local boy Trevor Drown, who is running against her as an independent. Just on that five minute conservation alone, he made his decision. Jason will be voting for an independent in next year's election and his name will be Trevor Drown. Anyone, who has served his country tracking down the Taliban in Afghanistan as a Green Beret, while the rest of us slept peacefully in our bed, is someone Jason thinks will watch over us in a good way up in Washington DC. And they fact he owes nothing to any party is that much better in his mind. The rest of you make your own decision like we always do, but make it an informed one. Check this guy out, you will find he is one of us. An Arkansan.

I am Jason Tolbert and I have never met anyone named Trevor Drown. I am beginning to wonder if such a person really exists.
