No wonder northeastern elite liberals are such an easy target for conservatives, because the smugness is offputting to the rest of us. Further, this column is in fact, an ad hominem attack on those who fail to see the satire of this. Satire is, according to Merriam Webster: "A literary work holding up human vices and follies to ridicule and scorn". What vices and follies are held up to ridicule and scorn? The imagination of those not ready to elect a black president? No, instead it is the Obamas that are portrayed. At best, it's a burlesque, which ridicules through grotesque exaggeration, but even there, it's easily just as easily seen as the Obamas being ridiculed.
