Save Chuck Grassley From ACORN!
Monday, August 31, 2009 at 3:19 pm
Ezra Klein nabs a fundraising letter from Sen. Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa) in which the ranking member of the Senate Finance Committee pledges to fight “the legislation sponsored by Speaker Nancy Pelosi in the House of Representatives and Chairman Ted Kennedy in the Senate.” One part that jumped out at me:

ACORN is not that much of a political force in Iowa. If anything, this is a nod to evolving standards in fundraising boilerplate.

As has been pointed by others, the Chuckster is under fire from his nice Republican pals in the Senate. Despite his continuous asshattedness over the health care issue, that's just not enough for them. He's got to look tough, though in his case that itself will be tough. Committee ranking memberships…maybe not so much Chuck.
I look for him to pull a Huckabee and go full-tilt wingnut gonzo, maybe head over to Israel and give Bibi some long, slow, wet fellatio. Settlements for everyone! Mazel tov! Then he'll head down to Philadelphia, Mississippi and give the whole town some oral love, a la Reagan. Maybe after that he'd still have some time for the good Rev. Phelps.

What? ACORN is NOT a significant force in Iowa?
But, but, sputter, they will be sending their goons after' ol' simple, decent Chuck won't they?
