It’s Ugly Out There

Constituents of Rep. Eric Massa (D-N.Y.), a Democrat who won a Republican-leaning district in 2008, wrote in to the Democrat & Chronicle newspaper to dish on the ugly details of a recent town hall.
Massa, trying to explain the legislation and his views, was roundly booed, even when he was first introduced. Many even shouted down his request for 10 seconds of silence in respect for Sen. Kennedy’s death.
Jared Smith, a spokesman for Massa, confirmed that account of the meeting. “Some people participated in the moment of silence, and some people were shouting,” he said. He did say that after a half hour or so, after the louder members of the crowd “got it out of their system,” the meeting turned out “pretty civil.”

These town brawlers are just tantrum-throwing children. They should be made to stand in the corner until they can work and play well with others.
