Dick Cheney’s Epistemology Course

The former vice president has an interesting standard for what constitutes certainty. Somehow in his hands a CIA inspector general’s report that says repeatedly that it can’t determine if torture techniques like waterboarding added any value to interrogations of top al-Qaeda detainees becomes an occasion for a torture enthusiast’s victory lap. (Credit to Chris Wallace of Fox News for actually saying that the two documents Cheney requested from the CIA to vindicate his defense of torture are “kind of agnostic” on the issue.)
This is the guy who said we “don’t know” if Iraq was involved in 9/11 after the 9/11 Commission found absolutely no evidence for that proposition, making Cheney a unique version of a 9/11 Truther. Give this former vice president an endowed chair in a philosophy department, as I would love to take his epistemology class.

HA! I love it. Remember the Dueling National Security Speeches? Cheney denied our common ground even exists. He's so Newtonian!

This is how I depict Cheney's worldview:
[[[Full-spectrum dominance / Commonweal///[[[{{{Dissent}}}]]]]]]
“Assertions of full-spectrum dominance over our Commonweal based on the absolute suppression of dissent.”
Here's how I depict our more perfect Union:
beloved/UNION/Beloved
“In Union we trust.”
Cheney's mythos is so 19th century.
