I hope that the family of Mary Jo Kpechne can have some peace now that Ted Kennedy has passed. She would be 79 years old and her unborn baby that also died when Ted Kennedy left her for dead would be 40 years old today

Yup, just disregard the countless lives he helped during his 50 years in the senate. It's not like he ever did any good. Oh wait…that's W Bush.

The Late Ted Kenedy: Let his date drown to death, without reporting it to the police. (Never charged, thanks to his mob connections.) Supported the IRA, but accepted an honorary Knighthood from QE II. Was a Catholic pro-choicer. Promoted gun control, even as he had gun-toting guards.
Really, just another two-faced, sleazy and crime-connected politician.

For all you disrespectful people,
He was still an American. He tried to make amends for his past misdeeds. Still, it didn't stop you from throwing around vile epithets and insults at a man that cannot hear or see you, on the day of his death. Don't you think that that is the height of insanity?
Remember, Karma exists (you know, what comes around goes around?), and when something bad befalls you, I'll be there, laughing at your misfortune.

People make mistakes. I remember when Dick Cheney shot an older man in the face while hunting drunk. He did not do atonement, he did nothing to make the world better, he does everything he can to make it worse.
Senator Kennedy lived a life of forever doing all the good he could. The accident and events of the past forever changed his life and it was to good. You people who seem to have so much hate, think of what you bring upon yourself and loved ones when you indulge in it.

Mary Jo Kopechne might disagree with you, but she is unavailable for comment. The flood of illegal immigrants probably agree with you, since his insidious efforts over the decades to burst our borders wide open has enabled them to flood our cities and towns, changing the demographics of our nation permanently – something Kennedy assured us in 1965 would not happen. I don't wish to speak ill of the dead, but even when he was alive, I could find very little to point to in Mr. Kennedy that I found appealing, or to be enhancing this country's well-being…

While I understand the nature of your beliefs, I don't share your vulgar method of expressing them. Please think twice before speaking ill of the dead. You'll be there one day, too… ;-)

I agree w monkey99 on this one, folks. I am by NO MEANS a supporter or fan of Ted Kennedy. But come on, people! When one speaks ill of the dead, it speaks volumes more about the speaker, rather than the subject of the speech… We're all going to take that everlasting nap in the other world and know not what, if anything, awaits us. Perhaps you could hedge that hostility w a touch of compassion…
