[...] Sen. Mitch McConnell, R-Ky.: “We must remain mindful that we still are very much a nation at war with terrorists who spend every hour of their day planning how to hurt America and Americans. That’s why reports that the Department of Justice has directed a special prosecutor to investigate the men and women tasked with keeping America safe is such a poor and misguided decision … Several years ago, career professionals at the Department decided the facts did not support prosecuting America’s intelligence professionals based on the practices at issue today. Now, the administration risks chilling our defense and intelligence community’s ability to protect us from future terrorist attacks by reopening this matter. If these reports are true, the American people will be rightly outraged by the administration’s actions in this critical area.” [...]

Apparently we are also at war with the agents of the Republican Party who spend every minute of their time conspiring how to violate our Constitution and our Rule Of Law, in particular our Federal Anti Torture Laws. See the Law: http://tinyurl.com/besdd3

The "Torture Memos" themselves are a criminal conspiracy to evade our Federal Anti-Torture Laws and to render our Federal Torture Law moot. A presidentially appointed lawyer can't make or change Federal Laws no matter who appoints them. Only Congress can do that.

Prosecute all those that ordered torture in our name, then go after all the other violations of Federal Laws and of our Constitution committed by Bush and Cheney.

The only way to protect lower ranking CIA agents, soldiers and law enforcement agents from prosecution for violating Federal Laws ( while under orders from superiors to do so) is to prosecute the superiors that ordered the illegality in the first place, even if, and especially If it includes former Presidents, Vice Presidents and Directors of the CIA.

Prosecution of the leaders will protect the agents. Enforcement of our Torture Laws will protect our freedoms from the tyranny of the powerful.

SIGN THE PETITIONS
Demanding
both a Commission of Inquiry
and a Special Prosecutor
For All Their Crimes
at ANGRYVOTERS.ORG

http://ANGRYVOTERS.ORG

"Only Prosecution deters crime".

TORTURE IS A FEDERAL CAPITAL CRIME!

Well if McConnell says bad idea then we must be on to something. Ol' Mitch has cried wolf (NO,NO,NO,NO) a few hundred too many times. We must therefor assume that his argument has no merit and that it's yet another 'scare the populous' diatribe.

We should be outraged that possible lawbreakers are being brought to justice (????????per MM) but we should be allied with him on intentionally trying to derail the very health of every man, woman and child in the country. That's #73 in the republican parties "Destroy America" book. Perhaps if MM had been awake during the period in question we could have avoided this whole repub. mess. Wake up Mitchy boy, the cows need milking.
