Obamacare is an attempt to simultaneously expand "coverage", reduce overall cost, and protect the profits of private insurance and big pharma. The method, detailed in the bill and by Obama's advisors, is a non-governmental advisory board that will decide which procedures and services may be dropped by insurers and Medicare. This is, in fact, a "death panel" designed to limit care to the sick and old.

Conservatives (stupidly) want no government interference, preferring to have Aetna ration their care directly.

Larouche supports single-payer insurance (Medicare for all), which reduces cost by eliminating the underwriting and profit that add ~40% to the cost of insurance. Their "alignment" with conservatives is a case of "the enemy of my enemy".

These are the facts. I'm not involved in any way with the LaRouche movement, but they're factually and morally correct on this issue and many others. The Democrats are a bunch of whiny putzes who would rather be on the winning team than use their brains.

Larouche and his flunkies are not part of the Democratic Party since they have been offically kicked out. I can claim to be the King of Sweden, but saying it doesn't make it so.

If you wingnuts want to make an analogy, then show me the official GOP statement officially kicking out all the conservative loons showing up at the townhalls.

The difference between responsible and irresponsible is the Democrats kicked out their loons a long time ago and the Repulicans embrace theirs.

Larouchies are the same people that I would see on my campus with effigies and skits harassing Al Gore and his case for global warming. And the same people who lost their minds during the Bush administration. Like it or not, they're dems. So far left reaching dems, but dems regardless. Larouche even ran for president under the dem party a half dozen times.

And the above poster is correct, Weigel doesn't want to believe the truth. But I'm sure is article has gotten lots of hits.

Interesting how David Weigel tries to bash John McCormack's article calling it a smear while not disputing the facts. LaRouchites are wacked out Democrats. They are no different than the hateful writers at liberal blog sites. There are MANY Democrats protesting at these town hall meetings also but Dabid would have you believe it's only Conservative Republicans. Typical of the leftest bias which drove me from the Democratic party.

The press claims that Clinton's healthcare proposal lost because of too many details, while Obama's is losing because of too few details.

Typical press is being sympathetic to anything socialized and liberal.

Obama's may not be nationalized today, but tomorrow it will. Today, he may not inlcude illegals, b ut tomorrow he will. Today, no public funds for abortions, but tomorrow, that will certainly change.
