Again the violence began to increase in Afghanistan about a year after the invasion of Afghanistan. (2002) It is just recently that more attention is being focused on the situation there. The violence has been increasing steadily for six years.

It has taken the Bush administration this long to respond. It was almost as if they wanted the Taliban to regain power.

Spencer violence increased in Afghanistan soon after the Bush administration took their eyes off of the situation there. They had the Taliban on the run and then backed off. My dear friend from Afghanistan who had been studying here in the states on a Fulbright would talk with his family weekly who live in Afghanistan. They wondered if the Bush administration wanted the Taliban to regain power? It was almost as if this is what they wanted. Otherwise they would have sent more money to build the much needed infrastructure water, electricity, helping the Afghani people replant almond, apricot, pomegrante etc orchards that were destroyed during the war with Russia. The Bush administration would have subsidized poppy farmers for years while they replanted legal crops Or the International community would find away for the poppy crop to be used legally for medical uses.

Many realize that the Taliban (they are not all radical zealots) need to be included in the process of development for Afghanistan. Some of them have legitimate concerns about the ugly and greedy side of our U.S. culture seeping into theirs. (not that greed is not all ready there) but not as outrageous as exist here in the states. The Taliban and their concerns need to be included in the development of Afghanistan. This is the only way to move forward there.

Instead the Bush administration focused on the illegal and immoral war in Iraq. From what I understand the Bush administration has never responded to the Afghani governments request/demand for documentation that confirms Osama Bin Laden's involvement with 9/11. This has never been proven. Former Governor of Minnesota Jessie Ventura just brought this up at the Ron Paul convention in Minnesota. The Bush administration has never confirmed that OBL had anything to do with 9/!1 and the majority of people in Afghanistan feel that their country is being occupied by the U.S.

I hope the connection that I have provided for you brings more understanding and positive development for all of the people of Afghanistan. I hope you treat Haroon respectfully,

“It depends how they’re used,” Ron said. The population wouldn’t approve of additional airstrikes, which tend to kill civilians -– a recent strike in western Afghanistan resulted in an estimated 90 civilian deaths, according to a U.N. report.
I believe it appropriate to let this one play itself out. It may be another Hadith. Fox news Ollie North and a cameraman were there and disputed the fatality claim. And with the UN taking the lead does not leave me with a warm fuzzy that all is as bad in Denmark as the UN is implying. I did see the cameraman interviewed and he disputed the claim.

Afghans don’t understand why the U.S. doesn’t act more aggressively against the Taliban: “Some say, ‘Why not use a heavier hand?’”
Afghanistan will made Iraq look like a cake walk. Any commander POTUS regardless of the Intel he gets would have a loss on his hand because the politicians and some military have led the public to believe that if only they were in charge things would be different. The DC backbiting and personality are of a nature not understood out here in the outer galaxy region where even our galactic gravity is different. Afghanistan’s infrastructure, tribal customs, religion, terrain and more terrain make this a very difficult battle to engage in and the public expects microwave results with zero fatalities. And the Dem political chatter about facilities facilities that public expectation. If it does continue it will be a war lasting longer that the cold war and the Dems in general will not continue if every does not go swimmingly and Europe will be of little help because it has not invested in their military as the Dems intend to do if they are elected. Every Dem discretionary military dollar saved will be used to finance the Dems entitlement programs making our system even more like the Euro model that does not adequately fund their military.
I sense optimism in this article but with the politics at home I find no reason for optimism. The Dems won’t fight nor will they let anyone else manage a military type operation either.
