Bachmann Holding Out for Signal From God Before Mounting Presidential Bid

The Minnesota Independent’s Andy Birkey points to a recent interview Rep. Michele Bachmann (R-Minn.) gave to the conservative Website WorldNetDaily, in which Bachmann said she will only make a bid for president if God calls on her to run.

“If I felt that’s what the Lord was calling me to do, I would do it,” she answered. “When I have sensed that the Lord is calling me to do something, I’ve said yes to it. But I will not seek a higher office if God is not calling me to do it. That’s really my standard.

“If I am called to serve in that realm I would serve,” she concluded, “but if I am not called, I wouldn’t do it.

Should Democrats be concerned? As Birkey notes, God already told her to run for Congress.

The nice thing about being called by God is that only you know the truth. Honestly, if God calls you to do something, one should probably do it without the fanfare of announcing it.

Dear Rep. Bachmann, that's not God telling you to run, that's us. Bush and Palin left office so we need a new sucker to laugh at. kthxbi.

Well, if those voices in her head are telling her to run, then go for it. We could use the entertainment!

My question is, how on Earth can Minnesotans elect Al Franken AND Bachmann? Is there some polar magnetic thing going on? Or maybe it's a collective subconscious thing. Or maybe they're just tired of being the butt of jokes because of the paranoia princess?

Please note for the record, Minnesotan's did not vote for Al Franken. Al Franken took office because he challenged the vote in liberal precincts and knew that if taken to the high court they would rule in his favor. Minnesotan's on election day voted to put Norm Coleman back in Congress, but all the back room negotiating and ramblings? It is a travesty. We all know Franken is a clown. Franken has failed at everything he ever put his hand to and single handedly ran Air America into the ground and rang up so much debt there that it can't survive.

alannstump is a liar and the numbers will provide the proof. Al Franken was a successful comic and radio prognosticator. He is also someone who believes in American with a socially responsible capitalistic economy. These birthers, tbaggers all, will not accept reality, but I will not let their lies stand unchallenged. Michelle Bachmann is the phony whose plan for the country is retro 17th century imperialism. Only the conquerors are arriving in Jaguars instead of ships.

Minnesotans had a moment of sanity and decided it was in their best interest to balance the conversation. Unfortunately, as long as the repugs stay on this path to destroy an american economic system that “lifts all boats” we will be fighting off the 24/7 campaign of lies, distortions and untruths broadcast by FOX. And as long as the Fox News Party-aka: the tparty aka, the republican party, aka the GOP has the funding to committ these falsehoods, we will contine to have unfit candidates like Michelle Bachmann in Congress. Today, was memorial day and it occurred to me: how can we honor our dead, who paid the price for our democracy and then turn around and dismiss the irresponsible role of media to float: Trump, Palin and Bachmann as serious candidates for the presidency. Seriously, you want any one of them to be our Commander in Chief, I don’t so!!
