I am thoroughly baffled by the lack of comment by Congressman concerning the government's
security investigations promulgated/streamlined/consolidated by National Security Directive 63 (1991) and Executives Orders 12958 and 12968 (1995). Every federal employee, Representative, Senator, Cabinet members, VP and President must undergo some degree of background checks starting from National Agency and Local Check (NACLC) and Single Scope Background Investigation (SSBI) for access to national security information ranging from confidential to top secret and sensitive compartmented information (SCI) and higher. This requires the submission of 13 page Standard Form 86 (Access to Classified Information). The SSBI for the VP and President is conducted by the FBI and is coordinated with the Office of Presidential Personnel, which also handles all White House staff and cabinet members. The Office of Management Personnel's Federal Investigative Services Division (OPM FISD) handles the bulk of all federal investigative work currently. OPM FISD Investigation Notices show that simultaneously with a check of national agency files, an investigator will obtain a copy of the birth certificate along with a statement of authentication/verification from the state's bureau of vital statistics. The national agency check include the State Department for check of citizenship status. In addition the SSBI is an extensive and in-depth investigation of one's education, financial, criminal, civil files and interviews of neighbors/associates for personal habits (drugs, gambling, drinking), relatives, co-habitant, foreign relatives or travels, residences, and more. I know there is great reluctance by most persons who experienced these investigation because of the sensitive privacy matters involved that one does not discuss casually with others, possibly explaining the reticence of Congressman to discuss same. However, it baffles me that Republican Congressman are proposing legislation for any future POTUS to produce his birth certificate knowing full well that such act is superfluous and redundant. This leads me to believe the Republicans are using this to spread the birthers claims for political purpose. President Obama has absolutely no obligation to show his birth certificate or any other personal document, since they have been duly examined and authenticated by federal investigators and state/county/civil authorities. Lastly, every time there is a classified briefing in any US government/defense office anywhere in the world, the security officer for each office is obliged by law to obtain or forward the degree of security clearance held by each participant. No Clearance/No Access, Period. NO ONE IS GIVEN A FREE PASS REGARDLESS OF HIS POLITICAL POSITION. THAT IS THE LAW OF THE LAND

federal investigative agencies, hurled vile and despicable accusations against the legality of Hawaii;s statehood , the veracity of Hawaii's certificate of live birth, showed utter disrespect for our Republican Governor and her Director of Health Department, her Chief of Vital Statistics Bureau, falsely accused our two leading newspapers, the Honolulu Advertiser and Honolulu Star Bulletin which carried Barack Obama's birth announcement in Aug 1961, and reprehensibly
vilified all of Hawaii's citizens. HAVE YOU NO DECENCY SHAME OR CLASS? ENOUGH IS ENOUGH!

*Roger Calero (SWP Presidential candidate) was absolutely forthright about having been born in Nicaragua–he got on the ballot in several states. Unless/until the Posey bill is passed, there is no formal vetting procedure for Presidential eligibility.

*The first 'birthers' were the Democrats, who rightfully investigated John McCain's eligibility; McCain supplied ALL requested documents. Obama has only supplied his Certificate (NOT Certification) Of Live Birth. Thanks to very peculiar HI law, this does NOT prove that a person was, in fact, BORN in Hawai'i.

*The residence Obama claims his parents lived in, when he was born (and supposedly posted in a birth anouncement) was, in fact, occupied from before his birth until the 1970s by another couple, according to a title search.

*Obama himself hasn't been consistent about which hospital he claims to have been born at. First, it was Queens, then it was Kapi'olani. Nor have any people from either hospital (other parents, staff) come forward with anecdotes of Obama and his mother.

*Obama has been very candid about potentially very politically damaging things like cocaine use. Yet, he refuses to release his birth, college admission, or Senatorial records (the latter containing things like records of which lobbyists he met with). Both Bushes along with John Kerry provided these sorts of records.

*While reporting on everything from Bush Jr.'s hemmorhoids (really), to Sarah Palin's pregnant daughter, to releasing ILLEGALLY-OBTAINED records regarding 'Joe the Plumber' and even concocting that extraordinarilly bad fraud of the Bush/Dan Rather letter debacle, the mainstream media will not press Mr Transparency on releasing ANY information that would end this controversy, preferring to use very unjournalistic ad hominem attacks (“nutty, tinfoil hat-wearing birthers”, &c.). This is unsurprising, since they provided much of Obama's $700M+ campaign and inauguration funding.

Obama could make this go away by being 'open and transparent'. Obviously, he has compelling reasons NOT to.
