His sign didn't just say 'death to obama.' It also said 'death to michelle and her two stupid little girls.' Very sad. I did hear that he was arrested, so that is good.

I was stuck at the stoplight right next to where he was standing at the entrance to the community college and I yelled to him that he was an idiot. He yelled back, “Obama's a Nazi.” I shouted back, “my father's family was murdered by Nazi's and Obama is NOT a Nazi.” He shouted back, “Obama's a Nazi.” The light turned green after that and off I drove into parking lot for the town hall.

By the way, most people had pretty offensive signs there, but nothing criminal like that guy…non-sensical and ignorant, but nothing illegal. Most folks wanted to shout and be heard and to honest, when I engaged them in conversation, the anger seemed to fade, a bit. Their spoken thoughts certainly weren't as provocative as their signs. I found that the minute I asked them where their anger y when Bush passed Medicare Part D and most of them stopped the screaming at me and became sort of thoughtful…sort of. All in all, it was an interesting day. Crazy as I expected and yet I sensed a somewhat thin shell of fear that broke pretty easily (for some, not all) when I engaged them with evidence that contradicted their arguments.

My 8 year old son came up to me earlier today, with this perplexed look on his face. Asking me, “why do you tell me to be social with my classmates, when socialism is not being american, And why do mom sends me to the community center after school… when communism is also not being American”? I was sort of taken back, he caught me off guard cause this kid usual questions is dad can I… So I responded like the intelligent person i am by answering the question with a question. I find out that he was in his room looking at TV and seen signs that people was carryng and the things that they was saying…

It happened in Canada a few months ago. Cops posed as protestors, then began to throw rocks and fight with other cops (who were in on the op) in order to create a situation where force could be legitimately used to break up the lawful protest. The state of Georgia went Republican for the first time because Goldwater voted AGAINST the civil rights bill. As President, LBJ supported it. I still remember visiting the Goldwater campaign headquarters in Columbus, Ga. (it was a school project) and having a lil' ol' southern lady shove a brochure at my face with a picture of LBJ shaking hands with MLK, while she screamed “He wants you to go to school with nigger rapists! Do you want to go to school with nigger rapists?!!!” That's how the Republicans got the South in their pocket, and I've never forgotten it.

I heard about the sign, Death to Obama, Saturday, August 15, from a friend. I thought he was mistaken or had misread the sign. Maybe the sign had said “Health to Obama” or “peace to Obama” or something like that. I just didn't believe the Secret Service or any American citizen would allow someone to encourage the death of an American president. Then I found the new report and I was flabbergasted I hadn't seen it on television or read that this man was arrested for domestic terrorism.

And today I read your report from August 12 and I can understand it. Were you attempting humor when you said, “On the plus side for the president, though, the sign didn’t indicate any opposition to the health care bill.” That's like saying to a mother who has lost her child, “On the plus side for the mother, she won't have to buy as much food and can get her figure back quicker.”

Sir, there is no “plus side”. This was domestic terrorism. If this man is mentally sound he should be arrested, tried in a federal court and if found guilty, incarcerated in a federal prison. If he is found to be mentally unstable he should be committed to an institution.

And you, sir, owe your employer and the American people an apology for making light of this act of terrorism.
