* The state of HI says they've never authenticated the picture of a cert shown on BHO's site.
* Despite that, several sources have falsely claimed the opposite. Some of those who've lied about that are at that link (including Weigel).

They're combining “no” and “don't know.” I'm singling out the “nos” here.

It's simple: for President Obama to have been born outside of the US would require a truly extraordinary set of circumstances. His mother, a relatively ordinary 19-yr old young women of middle-class upbringing and no independent resources, would have had to do the following things:

1) Decided to forgo giving birth in a nice, modern hospital in the nice, safe, modern city in which she lived (Honolulu), and instead decided to travel to a primitive, war-torn colonial outpost on the other side of the planet.

1a) Made this decision despite the fact that at the time, Kenya was just recovering from the Mau-Mau Rebellion, a colonial war so brutally mediapathic that it inspired a common political colloquialism (to mau-mau, meaning to loudly intimdate) in both the US and UK.

2) While heavily pregnant, made the expensive, multi-day air journey to Nairobi (then the site of the only international airport in the Kenya colony).

3) Having just given birth, make the same trip in reverse with a newborn infant.

4) Cover all this up

5) Induce the Hawai'ian health department to insert fraudulent birth announcements in the Honolulu papers and issue a birth certificate that falsely stated his place of birth.

That is an extraordinary claim, and those who claim he wasn't born in the US have not presented any evidence, alone or in combination, that would give a reasonable person any reason to take it seriously. There is no evidence that gives sufficient cause to doubt the null hypothesis, which is that he was born in the town where his parents resided at the time of his birth, Honolulu, HI.

Very dishonest “article.” Your conclusions just aren't true. A much higher percentage feels “unsure” about obummer's being born in the USA. More yet are unsure about obummer's natural-born citizenship.

And the Globe is running an article about obama’s fake birth certificate. Granted they’re a “gossip rag” but then “The Enquirer” busted John Edwards in spite of denial after denial by him and all the major news agencies.

The questions won’t go away until obama releases his hidden records. All he has to do is make the following official public statement,

“I Barack Obama authorize the State of Hawaii to release and make public all of my records on file.”

You're totally incorrect on your postulation as to why Utahns do not seem to buy into racial politics.

The reality is, Mormons by and large go on missions around the world in their late teens and are taught from very early on to respect and welcome cultural and physiological differences. They are also taught tolerance for anything that directly violates the teachings of the LDS church. Utah has an enormous Polynesian community as a direct result of the LDS church.

It takes a racist to have simply assumed that Utah's homogeneous makeup leaves less room for racial hatred.

Well, calling Weigel a “bigot” because he “suggested that it takes minority presence to fuel racism” is a bit of a stretch, to put it kindly.

But I will say, as someone who knows a lot of Mormons personally including some of my closest friends, that your assessment of them culturally makes sense to me. Mormons are often vilified because of the perception of their religious beliefs, and their supposedly anti-gay sentiments that came out during the 2008 California elections (sentiments that are not nearly as anti-gay as virtually the entire remaining Christian establishment, but I digress). But many Mormons I know speak foreign languages and, as you pointed out, have traveled far and wide around the world. This sets them apart from most Americans, and even if they did so because of their religious missions, the fact remains that these people tend to have a different perspective on the world than “typical” Americans.

To Some Engineer, The Hawaiian Health Department never inserted a birth Announcement in local newspapers. The announcement was made by Obama’s grandparents who are identified as the ones placing the notice, not the Health Department.

Neilends, Wm F. Buckley is a master of crafting words to imply things they do not say. If that is actually a direct quote, you should read the statement more carefully. First, Obama did NOT release a “document.” He released only an “electronic copy” of a document which could easily have been generated by anyone with Photoshop. Also the electronic copy does not claim to be a “Birth Certificate.” Instead it is entitled “Certification of Live Birth.” The difference may appear unimportant to the uninformed reader, but it is actually quite significant.

A “Birth Certificate” is generated from records produced at the birth of a child. It is signed by the physician and nurse in attendance while the “Certificate of Live Birth,” at the time of Obama’s birth in the 1960’s, was available to anyone regardless of the country of their birth and was generated from little more than an individual showing up at the Bureau of Vital Records. It certifies nothing more than that an individual exists. It was made available to those ‘born outside the country’ for use in acquiring work, etc. If Obama had been born in Hawaii as he claims, he would never have had reason to possess a “Certificate of Live Birth“ because he would have had a valid “Birth Certificate.”

However that does not mean it is identical to the information on the “electronic copy” of the “Certificate of Live Birth.” which has been disputed by several and may or may not be a true copy of an original, but is the only documentation we have ever seen to indicate Obama was actually born in the United States.

Obama's grandparents didn't post the newspaper birth announcements. David Weigel has reported on this very website that the newspapers got those records directly from the Dept. of Health.

Calling Obama “Osama” is absurdly juvenile, by the way. The sort of thing we'd expect from someone in jail.

September 11th is Patriot Day & the 17th is Constitution Day. On at least those two days let us pray for the salvation of the man some people refer to as “President” and/or “Barack Obama”. I pray he will get right with God, come clean with the American people about his past and resign from office. If he resigns immediately before any indictment VP Biden will become president & BHO can be pardoned for his deceit.
