Some Pushback on the Birther Facebook Campaign

Republican National Committee spokeswoman Gail Gitcho quickly poured cold water on birther lawyer Orly Taitz’s brag that Michael Steele had accepted her friend request on Facebook.

“This is silly,” said Gitcho in an email to TWI. “The Chairman has thousands of Facebook friends – obviously he is not going to agree with the agendas of all of them.”

Politico rounds up a few more reactions from Taitz’s new “friends,” and Ben Smith has more on how deeply irritating this is becoming to Republicans.

Well, it's pretty easy to de-friend someone on Facebook. I assume someone at the RNC knows how to do it.

Oh, it's way too late to start making sense fellas. Just embrace the crazy and deal.

Somebody using the name “Phil Berg” who, at last check, was Orly's enemy in the Birther lawyer universe, has joined Orly's facebook page. Does she even look at who her friends are? Orly on Colbert will be five minutes of hilrity, although she won't be aware of it

Does America not read or check facts anymore? Phil Berg was the first lawyer to file suit claiming that Obama is eliglble to be President. He and Orly Taitz share an agenda, as well as communication.

Your statement is exactly the type of misinformation being spread that helped start the whole Birther movement. READ before you WRITE.

The greatest benefit of Facebook is that it has many groups on the site that you can join. So if you are interested in Chicago Cubs you can research Chicago Cubs in the groups section and you will be able to find friends on there that like the Cubs. This is just one example, I know that you can join groups of your favorite football team, television show, or whatever you want for the most part! If you can't find a group for your interest, you can simply create one!

Berg presently is suing Taitz.

True and understood. What I meant but said in shorthand is that despite their legal and personal differences (because Berg feels Taitz has violated individual basic rights to privacy, despite his trying to do the same to the President), they still share and advocate the Birther agenda, although independently now.

Just watched Orly getting her ass handed to her by Stephen Colbert. Just like I predicted he proved her a complete fool and she was too stupid to know any better.

She kind of reminds me of my old dog where I could pretend to throw her toy and she would go running off to “fetch” and then come back all puzzled when she couldn't find it.
