The situation with personal debt is just getting worse and I certainly understand the problems, but getting bailed out by banks is a bit much on one hand and almost makes sense on the other. However, I think they should assist our citizens since the situation is very bad. One company I found - http://cpinstituteonline.org - helped to relieve the stress while I made a plan.

Treat people like crap long enough and they will respond in kind. How long has the banking industry been paying our congresscritters to pass legislation to tighten the screws on consumers, leaving fewer and fewer options and no recourse? How long has the medical industry been raising prices and tightening the screws on consumers? 62% of bankruptcies are due to medical bills, most where there was insurance coverage.
There is a reason people feel like they have no recourse and that is because the system is demonstrably stacked against them from the get-go, so the only rational response is to treat bad debts the way industry does-find some way to shed them and reorganize. Get that lease while your credit report is good, abandon your house and car, and sell your excess bling on ebay to maintain liquidity. The underground economy is flourishing-drugs, guns, smuggled cigarettes and booze with no tax stamps. We have re-run the 1920s and hit 1929, now we get to see if we have an FDR or a Wilson.
