McCain Camp Unveils Palin ‘Truth Squad’

The McCain campaign announced today that it has assembled a new, crack team of rapid responders too counter false information — presumably that not being deliberately spread by the campaign itself — about Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin on the Internet and in the media.

Dubbed “The Palin Truth Squad,” the mostly-female team consists of dozens of current and former Republican public officials, former Palin staffers and at least one “lifelong friend” of the governor.

From the campaign’s press release:

With today’s Wall Street Journal report that pro-Obama Democrats have “airdropped a mini-army of 30 lawyers, investigators and opposition researchers into Anchorage” to dig for dirt on our vice presidential nominee, the McCain-Palin campaign today launched the Palin Truth Squad to counter recent attacks on Governor Sarah Palin, her family, her friends and her record of accomplishment. The Palin Truth Squad will set the record straight against Internet and liberal smears of Governor Palin…

In the event of false attacks, rumors and smears against Governor Palin, the Palin Truth Squad will issue alerts and statements to voters and the media to set the record straight. Additionally, the Truth Squad will be available to respond to inquiries from the media.

It’s refreshing to see the McCain campaign is so concerned with ensuring the public has access to the truth that it is willing to create a team expressly for that purpose — and not just another propaganda office with an Orwellian name.

Are we certain that it won't be a HIT SQUAD? Isn't Palin, this “gutsy pit bull” able to fend for herself? Hasn't she heard some of the questions before? And just how deep are they willing to dig to defend her before hitting something they can't defend? She's supposedly an intelligent adult, the governor of a state, someone who's “electrified” the Republican Party, but she has to be hidden from the major media for a while and now has to have a whole group of people fending off critics (sorry, I mean the Internet and liberal smears – BTW, does that mean that the Internet isn't liberal or liberals don't use the Internet?).

This woman has a lot of excess baggage. She is NOT Hillary Clinton. She is “smart” but not intelligent. As far as the “vetting” process was concerned, McCain picked her too quickly and she accepted too quickly. In the past, VPs were picked for how many votes they could bring in. McCain just looked at the number of possible votes and not the person, not the professional. On her part, Palin was so awed by the possibility of becoming VP, she didn't care enough to quickly and thoroughly cover her ass.

On a personal note: If I hear the phrase “thanks, but no thanks” I'm going to vomit.

Lest, we forget, there would have been no need for a Surge if Bush & Co. had not taken the U.S. into a Phony & Pretend War on Terrorism while the Real War on Terrorism in Afghanistan where Bin Ladin lived, was ignored! And if we do not Wise up this might happen in the future!

In a cleverly pre-emptive strike, McCain is falsely accusing Obama of wanting to teach children sex education because they knew Newsweek will be soon coming out with an article on Sarah Palin! “Judge Warned Palin About Emotional Child Abuse!”

DanV looks like one of those magnetic faces that you drag the metal shavings onto different areas of the drawing to make different characters. It's completely cool.

The name 'Palin Truth Squad' should be a national joke.

That's the joke that this site is trying to tell, anyway :)
