House Republicans: Democrats Won’t Let Us Use Our Health Care Chart!
Thursday, July 23, 2009 at 10:29 am
Jackie Kucinich reports that House Democrats are scuttling Republican plans to send their infamous health care chart, a cartoonish mess put together by Rep. Kevin Brady (R-Texas) that purports to show how “nationalized” health care will work, to their constituents.
Democrats argue that the chart depicts a “Health Insurance Exchange Trust Fund” that is “simply a recipient of IRS funds, with no outflow. … This is false.”
The chart’s illustration of low-income subsidies is also “misleading and false,” Democrats argue.
Democrats “argue” it, but it’s also, you know, true.

From the Roll Call article: 'Congressional rules for franked mail bar Members from using taxpayer-funded mail for newsletters that use “partisan, politicized or personalized” comments to criticize legislation or policy.'
The Outrage! Not letting the GOP use taxpayer money for political mailings to defeat healthcare reform!

Hm. They don't show where the Institute of Medicine (IOM) and the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ – Barry's equivalent of Great Britain's NICE) get either input or output into this melange. So what are they on the page for? To fill in otherwise blank space?
And where's the Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS'; old HCFA) in this? I've been dealing with those bastiches literally all my adult life, and they've gotta be in this bloody rape job up to their figurative scrotal sacs.
Hm. Anybody care to guess what The Onion's take on this graphic is going to be?
