I'll tell you what Jawad was doing in Afghanistan, trying to kill Americans. We are at war. This was no innocent bystander. This boy isn't one of the Little Rascals and his age doesn't take away from his "death to America" convictions.
He said he came from Pakistan to work disarming mines. I know that crap hole part of the world has poor employment, but does that sound reasonable? He also said he didn't know he was passing grenades and didn't know he was attacking Americans? Give me a break. He knew exactly what he was doing.
If the piece of trash gets turned loose, an American or allied soldier will eventually see him on the battlefield again. When that happens, I hope Mohammed Jawad isn't lucky enough to be captured again.
As for you Ellen Huvelle, how many times have you had a grenade thrown at you?

When even the judges complain you know the DOJ is incompetent! No one seems to be pleading the age of the alleged combatant. I thought that the US was a signatory to the treaty that requires child soldiers to be rehabilitated. Doesn't treaty law mean anything to the US government? Is it not worth the paper it's written on? Is the US signature on a treaty meaningless, an international joke?
