Breakdown of the Senate Vote on Thune Amendment

Just posted to the Senate’s site: 20 Democrats — mostly from rural, low-population states — voted in favor of the gun amendment. Two Republicans, Sens. George Voinovich (Ohio) and Richard Lugar (Ind.), voted against it.

I think the is more of a state's rights issue than a gun rights one. Its simple. South Carolina might not care if people with concealed weapons permits travel into their state, but maybe Vermont does. This is not something that should be dictated at the federal level. I think the the Senate made the right choice.
