Jason Mattera Defends Himself

After Matt Corley of ThinkProgress picked up my post about Jason Mattera’s tongue-in-cheek “ghetto” joke about Sonia Sotomayor, Mattera posted a response at HotAir.com. HotAir’s Ed Morrissey asked “why TP and the WI spends its time trolling Jason’s Facebook account,” and speaking for myself, I’m friends with Mattera on Facebook and monitor my feed from time to time.

And in any case, I doubt that Mattera is recoiling from the attention for saying something outrageous about race:

I try to avoid getting involved in the Soros-sponsored muck, but the screengrab I saw at TP said “updated four minutes ago”. Now, I'm not entirely certain about how Facebook feeds work, but four minutes? At first glance that sounds like some close monitoring to me.

P.S. Maybe Weigel can explain why someone keeps making both him and Matt Yglesias look bad. It's not like I don't want to make both of them look bad, I just want to do it in an honorable way.

Hi David, thanks for posting this story. You might find my blog post on this very topic interesting. Soon after I read the story on Think Progress, I sent Jason Mattera a facebook message expressing my disappointment. You can view our correspondence here:

You're not entirely sure how the Facebook feed works, but you'll make an allegation anyway. Sadly, this is your M.O. on just about every other issue you bring up. This is why you will remain an internet nobody, reduced to leaving your juvenile demands in the comments pages of those you envy, only to be ignored or laughed at.

dude, have you seen 24AheadDotCom's website? it's like the scene in A Beautiful Mind, where Russell Crowe is writing all that crazy shit on the chalkboard that somehow connects all the conspiracies. But really, just looks like the crazed rantings of a paranoid schizophrenic. Hmmmmm
