Alberto Gonzales Will Teach Your Class

Apparently, to teach at Texas Tech, it’s not disqualifying to be a disgraced former official with a flagrant disregard for the law. An unemployment rate of 9.5 percent and former Attorney General Alberto Gonzales can find a job?

Why do we act so surprised?! Look at John Poindexter, for Pete's sake. The man was not only a liar, but he's a dope dealer and was involved in the theft of the PROMIS software. Which, by the way, appears to have been used to manage the information stolen from Health and Human Services files, DMV records, Welfare records, IRS and SS administration records and then pitched as a “national security tool” to Dick Cheney by Poindexter back in 2003. (See history of George Meese, Earl Brian and other Iran-Contra notables for further understanding.) We do not prosecute or punish government criminals. We pardon them and then promote them.

Well, if he's going to be teaching Political Science, I suppose one of the things he will be teaching is that politicians are not constrained by silly things like laws. I can't imagine what he will teach that they *are* constrained by — maybe by the wishes of the Chief Executive?
