In an interview with Pennsylvania’s Wayne Independent this morning, second-term Rep. Joe Sestak (D-Penn.) officially threw his name in the ring to take on Sen. Arlen Specter (D-Penn.) in next year’s Democratic primary.

Sestak had been hinting at the run for months. The Hill describes the final hurdle of the decision-making process:

Sestak was expected to run in the Democratic primary, but he was talking things through with various members of his family. Last on the list was his daughter, and he appears to have gotten the go-ahead.

He has a tough road ahead. Democratic leaders, including President Obama, have already indicated that they’ll support Specter.

It's still not “Official”. This is the same dodging he's been doing since this started.

Despite Sestak's years in the modern navy, he's more like a sailor of old: checking the way the wind is blowing.

It will be “Official” when he actually files candidacy papers. So far, he did file his intent to run again for congress on April 22, 2009. Zero for Senate.

How many times does this boy have to cry wolf?
