First, John, we should be using natural gas to displace coal in the generation of electricity, where renewables are not yet a viable baseload option. In the meantime, a move toward plug-in hybrids is in order, to reduce dependence on generally inefficient internal combustion engines (including natural gas).

The physical laws of the universe don't care about the sluggish pace of American partisan politics.

It blows my mind that people are more concerned about slight price increases than preventing the violent exinction of all life as we have ever known it. Global warming is in full swing, going to get much worse and may already be too advanced to stop, let alone reverse. Meanwhile us simple minded and short sited humans continue to argue about inconvenience while the species extinction rate rapidly accelerates.

Those who have the gall to deny the science of global warming should stop using cars, phones, computers, television, any technology at all. Because all technology was built on science. How can someone have faith in the scientists who designed the brakes in their car but not the scientists measuring glacial melt? The earth is not flat, it was not created 6,000 years ago and global warming is a very real, dire and urgent crisis that is far worse than Americans have yet to realize.

Perhaps Congressman Doggett should let his constituents know that he spent some time in the Oval Office with Obama as well as Michelle. For someone who was opposed to this oppressive tax increase, I have to believe that some deal was cut for him to change his vote. I hope that Texas voters will remember this when he is up for reelection.

Both parties are in the pockets of special interests. Our nation's car's and small trucks should be running on clean domestically produced natural gas a true multiple win for America.
