What could be more of an outrage than an illegal-alien in the Whitehouse? No other issue could possibly be more important as it turns the world upside down. How about Obama show everybody his original longform Birth Certificate, college applications where he might have applied as a foreigner, his passport records to Pakistan, his official name-change back to Obama from Barry Soetoro which was his legal name when a citizen of Indonesia(the MOST Moslem country in the world) and why doesn't Michelle accompany him to countries under shariah-law? Because Obama is viewed by those countries as a Moslem and his wife would have to wear a burkha.

I'm a vet, and I know all about service. Sorry, but a Purple Heart is not an accomplishment, it's a medal award to those unfortunate enough to get wounded. Yes, his service time is an accomplishment. Unfortunately, he perverted it by turning around and calling other servicemen war criminals. You can ask Kerry about his crack about only uneducated people going to Iraq.

I don't happen to think locking up ANWR is an accomplishment.

That is pretty despicable, would you also say McCain's service was not an accomplishment either, it was an accomplishment for his captors? That was a claim I fought when it was posted even though I am a liberal Democrat. In addition, Kerry received a Silver Star, the third highest award possible, and a bronze star with valor.

Now, as to his political career - he has many accomplishments that have far greater impact than Palin's. He led the successful filbuster against drilling ANWR in 2001. He also wrote with Kennedy the original bill that SCHIP, which provides children with health insurance developed from.

His Kerry/Feingold plan is the prototype that president Obama's exit plan is based on.

Kerry went to Sudan and succeeded in getting commitments from the rulers and rebels to start talks with teh US envoy and an agreement from the rulers to allow aid to Darfur to return to the level it was before some aid providers were expelled.

A few past accomplishments included having written with Kennedy the precursor bill which SCHIP developed from – which provides millions of kids with health insurance.

Kerry led the filibuster that stopped drilling in ANWR in 2001.

Kerry was credited by a member of the Bush negotiating team for his efforts at the Bali environmental conference as being “He was a virtual part of our negotiating team, without his day and night support and lobbying of the EU. we would not have gotten a treaty.” http://www.kerryvision.net/2008/04/in_defense_o...

Kerry/Feingold is the basis for the current exit plan from Iraq – the timeline was lengthened but otherwise, President Obama's plan is very similar.

Those are contributions to the major issues of the day and far exceed Palin's limited accomplishments. (Kerry very nearly defeated Bush in a year when the Democrats had no chance; Palin was given the VP nomination and likely hurt McCain more than helped him.

(To the person saying that purple hearts are not an accomplishment – 2 things. 1) I thought the right wing appreciated the sacrifices men make in defense of their country. I defended McCain's status as a war hero on left wing blogs when people said that his awards all came from being taken POW – that was wrong and this is wrong. 2) Kerry also got a Bronze star with valor and a silver star. )

As to the joke – it was a throw away comment at an informal meeting with MA constituents, made when all that was known was that he was away and his staff and wife were not concerned saying he wanted some quiet time. It did not attack Palin's career, personality, character, family or anything else. It would be hard to find many Republicans who did not make far less justifiable comments about Senator Kerry – and I didn't see this level of faux outrage.

Kerry is a war hero, statesman, and American patriot, with a life of public service, who is respected by people like Republican Senator Lugar. Governor Palin, at this point has a very slim resume. Their ideologies are at opposite ends of the spectrum, but Kerry represented his side far better than she did hers. Kerry excelled in his debates with Bush, Palin expressed the novel idea that she didn't have to answer the questions asked.

I said she had accomplished more in her political career than he has in his, so what big accomplishments has he had. Purple Hearts aren't an accomplishment, it may be an accomplishment for the person who wounded him though.

Ga, "talking, sponsoring, or co-sponsoring bills" are THE ONLY THINGS a senator has the authority to accomplish.

What kind of accomplishment are you asking from Kerry?

His military ones?

He has a purple heart from Vietnam War.

That alone worth more than a thousand Palin visit to the troops IMO.

I don't hate Kerry, just think he's a jerk.

The pipeline deal that Palin brokered between ExxonMobil and TransCanada will be the biggest, privately funded infrastructure project in US history. This is a project that has ben talked about for 40 years, with no action taken. She started forcing the issue upon becoming governor. I think that's quite a big deal.

She got ExxonMobil to start drilling at Pt Tompson for the first time over 30 years.

Authored and pushed Alaska Gasline Inducement Act through the legislature, which has led to the above.

That's just off the top of my head. Now, tell me exactly what accomplishments Kerry has had in his career, other than talking, sponsoring, or co-sponsoring bills, etc. There's a huge difference between a Gov. and a Senator as far as responsibilities goes.

As a Gov. she makes executive decisions every single day, and has to live with the consequences.
