You are calling the firing of a 77-year old man who investigated the misuse of funds by a politician the material of a scandal by the Republican Party? I certainly don't agree with the Republican Party's actions, but this man was obviously the victim of age discrimination. And the firing of him without the 30-day notice is evidence to me that the president wanted to leave no room for investigation of his motives for Walpin's removal.

Walpin is right. Biden is confused, incoherent most of the time. Obama isn't all that bright. I think that being an IG or former IG doesn't disqualify being critical of the President.

The US Attorney accused him of withholding exculpatory evidence, not doing his job(not auditing a potential financial crime, but still announcing that he was recommending an investigation publicly–which is a major breach of ethics) and asked for the FBI to probe Walpin's behavior. And the US attorney(appointed by Dubya) didn't find any crime in the supposed event that Walpin was hyping with the press(in the middle of an election involving one of the candidates). Seems like there was major cause to fire him.
