President McCain Explains His Foreign Policy

On CNN’s American Morning just now, John Roberts pressed Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) on whether he was asking that the president “interfere” with Iran’s internal politics. McCain:

We’re not interfering when we take the side of the opposition.

Everybody got that? OK. McCain’s position is that supporting a “fair election” is different than taking sides, but a week ago not many Iran hawks would have characterized Iran’s elections as fair, or meaningful.
