Pat Toomey, the former Club for Growth president and leading Republican candidate in Pennsylvania’s 2010 Senate race, has announced a $1 million haul in the “first 60 days” of his campaign and a finger-in-the-eye hiring coup:

Toomey also is pleased to announce the hiring of Arlen Specter’s former long-time Finance Director, Louisa Boyd, to fill its top fundraising position.

Toomey’s been a bit starved for attention since Rep. Joe Sestak (D-Penn.) began hinting at a primary against Specter and nudging the senator to the left.
