Making fun of kids isn't funny, whether it's Letterman doing it to Willow or Limbaugh doing it to Chelsea back in the day. These middle-aged men need to grow up and get over whatever issues they have with women and little girls.

There are plenty of legitimate reasons to poke fun at Sarah Palin, but her supposed "sluttiness" isn't one of them. Suggesting that Palin is "slutty" was really classy, Letterman.

This is ridiculous. Palin has done nothing but exploit her family for the sake of her political career and now she feigns outrage over the remarks of a comedian? Could it be because Letterman is one of the few (if not the only) interviewers who, during his final run for the presidency, came even close to really giving John McCain a serious interview when he asked McCain about the relevancy of guilt by association with respect to his longstanding friendship with convicted felon G. Gordon Liddy?

Obviously, NOW, like many in the womens' movement since it began, is really only interested in advocating for the interests of white middle and upper class women--not average working class women, who are adversely affected by the views espoused by Palin and those who support her. NOW leadership must not realize what it is like to live in a place dominated by this ideology, how such idealogues keep womens' wages low, seek to insert themselves into the relationships between women and their physicians, tolerate the abuse of women not wealthy enough to pay for legal teams to represent them against abusive husbands from whom they would like to disassociate themselves, etc, etc.

Quite simply, NOW is coming to the defense of someone who has exploited her own girls and who preaches an ideology that makes life more difficult for many, many, average women.

Finally, it should be pointed out that Lindsay Lohan, Brittany Spears and Lindsay Lohan are also daughters who have been treated very disrespectfully not only by comedians but by the media generally. If I am not mistaken, NOW has protested the disrespect of these young women very little--if at all.

SCREW YOU, NOW

Sincerely,

A.
The truth is that no one including Limbaugh made sexually suggestive "jokes".Comments regarding :Pelosi were not of a sexual nature. In typical liberal fashion we see a double standard. IF Letterman's comments would have been about one of Obama's daughters, how different the reaction would be.
Proof once again of the double standards so prevalent with liberals.

Sarah Palin and her daughters need to be given respect and honor. David Letterman spewed forth disrespect and dishonor not only to the Palins but to all women and young girls. I find his remarks appalling, discusting and certainly not funny. Moreover, his comments about the "slutty look" Palin carries is another slap at another group of females, flight attendants. No wonder young and older men ridicule and vilify women and girls when they see this kind of celeb put forth this so-called humor on the late show. And the applause of the audience shows what kind of a society we live in. His remarks were sexual not just sexist. Leave the children of politicians out of it. Violence against females is up. No wonder! And the attacks on Palin's family from the left are beyond anything experienced by any other.

"but curiously it dredges up the old example of Rush Limbaugh mocking Chelsea Clinton"

It's not curious -- it's the best parallel in that both the Letterman and Limbaugh situations involving the mocking of teen girls/young women.
