Wlady Pleszczynski Forgets 9/11

The American Spectator’s editorial director reads President Obama’s Cairo speech and grumbles:

Six thousand words and the words “terror,” “terrorist,” or “terrorism” do not appear even once.

Yes, the issue was so thoroughly dodged that the president brought up “the attacks of September 11th, 2001″ in the … third paragraph of the speech. Is Pleszczynski’s gripe that the president called the attackers “violent extremists” instead of “terrorists”? Many of the conservative responses to the speech have been disappointingly shallow and trite.

Dave: Sorry to disappoint you. But then again I'm incapable of burying my head as deeply in the desert sand as you appear to. The words we choose to use (or not use) speak volumes. I am surprised that you, an ace political reporter, would pretend not to know that.

“The words we choose to use (or not use) speak volumes.”

If what the right can do to criticize his speech is parsing the words Obama used or didn't use then Obama really has nothing to fear from the right winger IMO.

Oh BTW if you truly believe in what you said about how we use words then are you also as critical to Manny Miranda using the term “limp wristed” or Newt Gingrich calling Sotomayor “latina woman racist” (IIRC)?

Are you?

Seems to be the norm these days.
