Check out http://obamamortgage2009.blogspot.com or obamamortgage2009.blogspot.com There needs to be a program for the elderly but not quite to retirement age for mortgage modification when the have lost their job during this particular recession. I made a decent wage because I put my time into a company and now have no job. I am looking at $10 - to $12 hr jobs after working all my life. You can't make a mortgage payment on that kind of money. I will eventually lose my home.

Your probably right about them blaming Bush and not blaming themselves. You know we are victims today, and that is a good thing, somehow. I personally am not a victim and refuse to become one. If I make a mistake then it is my mistake and lose.

Since when are we guaranteed to have equity in a home when we buy it. Getting sick or loosing our jobs is a everyday part of life. These people were bragging when they bought these homes, and a lot of them were bragging about how much they were going to make when they flipped them. I started telling people at the beginning of 2005 that it was not a good time to buy, everything was over inflated, and it could not continue. But no, I did not know what I was talking about, is what I heard from almost everyone. they had it all figured out. They were going to buy a house on a no interest loan, and then flip it in a year or two, and make a whole lot of money. Well they invested wrong and lost. This is no different then going to Las Vegas and putting you life saving all on red. Sometimes you will walk away smiling at doubling your money, but the house odds are you will be wondering what you were thinking afterward.

Wait until the restructuring of GM takes place. Obama has said they are going to close dealerships and plants. Imagine the unemployment and those people losing their homes. Still, I'm surprised the NY Times would run such a story. Perhaps tomorrow, they'll blame Bush.
