He went on to say a number of things about the differences between gun use for hunting and automatic weapons in schools.<br><br>Oddly, that was a few hours *before* he made his famous "bitter" remarks in SF. Though Obama made comments about the politics of distraction during his Atherton appearance, they were not related to guns or religion.<br><br>The truth is, it doesn't matter what the truth is, because in the American political system, candidates have more bandwidth to say false or distorted things about each other than the press has bandwidth to debunk false claims.
