A Facebook Group for Socialist Sympathizers
Thursday, May 14, 2009 at 9:55 am
Late yesterday, smart Republican Web guru Patrick Ruffini sent out an invitation to join a Facebook page that protests the proposed Republican National Committee “Democrat Socialist Party” resolution.
As conservatives, we shouldn’t shy away from calling out officials in both parties who have supported this unprecedented growth in government power as “socialists.” But… are you kidding us? The Democrats are called the Democrats — and the Republicans are called the Republicans. A meaningless resolution from the RNC will not change this basic fact.
Let’s show RNC members that the real grassroots of the Republican Party thinks our party has better things to do to regain our majority than engage in meaningless symbolism. The only ones who will be rebranded by such an ill-advised move are Republicans — as flailing and out of touch.
Let’s beat Democrats on substance and on issues, not by rewriting history.
This is a little harsh — the resolution only asks the Democrats, politely, to change their name — but it’s one token of the blogosphere’s boredom with this issue.

Heh heh heh. Heh.
<snort>
Haaaa! (C. Matthews' laugh)
Please, use this phrase, “Democrat Socialist Party” <snicker>, as often as possible. Every time one of you manages to get on television, use the phrase. Provided we can use the phrase, “Republican Nitwit Party,” which we have decreed in our wisdom that, if you were being Honest with the American People, you would adopt as your etc. etc.
Come to think of it, just go ahead and call us names. Not that there's anything wrong with that. It'll be fun. And not at all wasteful of the public's attention in the face of the most determined effort by capitalism to destroy itself since, well, you know. How about “Democrap Communistical Party of Doom?” “Democrapic?” Be creative. Try out new terms on that news network you guys control. Or, heck, even try Fox News. Go on Maddow on MSNBC, she doesn't bite. Wimps.
And no, the rally isn't going to last. Get real. Read the FT. Do SOMETHING to get yourselves back in touch with the reality-based world, or you'll have to blow up your Range Rover for the insurance money one day soon.
'Kay?

There is a Democratic Socialist Party and it sure isn't the Neo-Liberals on the the Hill or White House.
For those interested I would advise you to read Michael Harrington. It sure wouldn't hurt this country to have more of Harrington's idea's put into effect.
It's really more right-wing double-speak to call the current crop of neo-liberals socialist. That just shows us all just how far to the right the right has really gone.
