Tea Party Leader Headed to Presidential Town Hall Meeting

Michael Patrick Leahy, one of the men behind Top Conservatives on Twitter (#TCOT) and a leader of the anti-spending Tea Party movement, is planning to attend President Obama’s town hall in Albuquerque as an audience member. Leahy and Charlotte Salazar, who organized an April 15 Tea Party in the city. While Tea Party protesters stage a rally outside, Leahy (who lives in Nashville) plans to head inside and try to ask a question.
After a town hall meeting last month in St. Louis, when President Obama poked fun at people “waving tea bags around” but said he was open to meeting with people who had serious ideas, Leahy and other Tea Party leaders said that they would meet with him. But tomorrow’s event is “unrelated, to my knowledge,” said Leahy. He applied for a ticket online. The White House hasn’t responded to the Leahy’s offer to meet.

Who is he, why was he removed from the Albuquerque Tea Party, and why is this notice here trumpeting his actions?
