National Organization for Marriage and Miss California Fight Back

The National Organization for Marriage has just blasted out a statement from its unofficial (but most prominent) spokesmodel, Carrie Prejean.

I am a Christian and I am a model.  Models pose for pictures, including lingerie and swimwear photos. The photos of me taken as a teenager have been released surreptitiously to a tabloid website that openly mocks me for me for my Christian faith. I am not perfect and I will never claim to be perfect.  But the attacks on me and others who speak in defense of marriage are precisely the kind of intolerant, offensive attacks that I hear some in the gay community say are hurled at them for their opinions.  No one should have their opinion silenced through vicious and mean-spirited attacks on ones character and integrity.

The group’s president, Maggie Gallagher, adds her voice in solidarity “as a former unwed mother” who knows that “you don’t have to be a perfect person to have the right to stand up for marriage.”

I think she has every right to voice her opinion. It amazes me how intolerant the Gay Marriage group is. Because someone voices an opinion, they attack her with a vengance.

Generally, it's not a good idea to judge causes by the loudest members. Do you think Ahmadinejad or bin Laden are good spokesmen for Islam? Do you think Jerry Falwell or Ann Coulter are the best spokesmen for religious or conservative people?

Likewise, don't judge the gay community by Perez Hilton.

I'm gay, fully support gay marriage; I think she had the right to say what she did, and it made no sense to attack her for answering an obviously political question with the answer they didn't want. She spoke her mind, even if I disagree with her; even if I think her standpoint is close-minded or even ignorant, she's entitled to it.

People get impassioned when they see a sanctimonious religious group like NOM arguing that other groups should be denied the same rights they have: to enter into civil marriages. The violence and hatred almost always comes from the side arguing for “traditional marriage”–whether it's the people arguing against interracial marriage and desegregation murdering Martin Luther King Jr., or the murder of Harvey Milk for advocating gay rights.

Have you seen their ad? They claim that somehow gay marriages are going to strip straight people of their rights and then they have the temerity to make their spokesperson some whore with fake tits who stumbled over an answer involving “opposite marriage.” And then we find out that their own leader didn't even bother getting married before she pumped out a baby! I don't understand how gay people getting married strips other people of their rights, but I really, really don't understand how putting unwed mothers and stupid fake-tittied tarts up on stage helps their cause.

Do they really think “unwed mother” is the same as “underage nude model”? The problem with these people is that they live so far away from reality, it's just a joke!

National Organization for Marriage … sounds like a very informed and influtential think-tank. So what are their policy recommendations on No Fault Divorce? On Alimony? On things that have crashed the new-marriage rate from 80-per-1000/year in 1970 down to 40-per-1000/year?

What, they don't have any opionions on how th defend marriage against divorce? Oh I forgot. They just exist to throw stones at gay people. They don't any of that nambly pambly public policy stuff that really effects the lives of hetersexual married people.

The Poster Girl for The Republicans and Straight Marriage posing TOPLESS! LMAO…..They will tell you that she was young and it's ok. Does anyone remember NIPPLE GATE? The religious right and the republicans (same thing) , lost their ever loving minds…poor Janet Jackson. This woman is as dumb as a post so it's is no wonder she represents the religious right.
I just want to say thank you to all the crazy F##ked up Christian right wingers for giving us all this wonderful material to laugh at. I'm having so much fun watching the Republican party implode. Listening to the Right wingers is like watching a cornered animal who knows its days are over.
LOL….keep up the great work and remember Jeebuz is on your side.
