DeMint Launches Anti-Specter Website

The Senate Conservatives Fund, chaired by Sen. Jim DeMint (R-S.C.) (and located squarely inside the Freedom Tent) has launched SpecterVsToomey.com, where people can vote in a poll, write mash notes about the candidates, and, oh yeah, supply their email addresses. The goodwill from Sen. Arlen Specter’s (D-Pa.) Employee Free Choice Act flip-flop seems to be pretty much gone:

Specter voted in favor of the union organizing “card-check” bill and voted against a bill to protect secret ballot union elections.

It’s no longer news that Republicans will endorse Specter’s opponent, but one thing to keep an eye on is the effort — still totally in the rumor stage — that Republicans are trying to draft a stronger general election candidate, like Tom Ridge. The conservative base, represented by people like DeMint, is not going to let Toomey get shoved aside.

SpecterVsToomey.com is not just welcomed but have been expected for some time now. Although there are numerous blogs where people can talk about the candidates, it's always better to have one site where everyone can join and debate about their concerns.
