Rasmussen has former Rep. Pat Toomey (R-Pa.) up 21 points on Sen. Arlen Specter (R-Pa.) in the July 2010 primary for Senate, with a whopping 55 percent of Republicans saying they hold a negative view of Specter. Toomey’s favorable rating? Sixty-six percent.

The topline of the poll of Republican primary preferences:

Pat Toomey – 51 percent
Arlen Specter – 30 percent
Someone else – 9 percent

There actually is a someone else in Pennsylvania in pro-life activist Peg Luksik, and she’s really the only liferaft for Specter here: He can be viewed negatively by most Republicans but still win if enough people split the vote.
