First let me say the regulatory and Department of Labor oversight is an excellent idea, as we do not need to stop the H1B visa program, the issue is not the program it is the abuse and there is serious abuse.

The program was created to help America bring in “UNIQUE” skill and not as an alternate cost mitigation base to displace the US labor market.

This is not an IMMIGRATION issue and should not be misconstrued as such; Take it from this immigrant who assimilated in the US legally and became part of the US dynamic market.

The H1B visa program like every other provision requires checks and balances and is susceptible to abuse by greedy Board of Executives, investors and CEO racing to the bottom line.

This is the old fundamental struggle and tussle between Labor and Management, only this time it is no longer the blue collar worker.

This problem has now encompassed the very same level of management that used to be the axe man for the executives.

The ultimate goal has always been and will continue to be, break the back of labor force in US so that executives can reap profits while they continue to lose respect for the US labor force and their expertise.

This is purely exploitation and abuse period.

1. This all boil down to $$$$$$ Dollars…
2. The Model is simple. Replace a local American labor market with cheap labor from abroad period.
3. The big 5 consulting firms are consolidating the market as we speak by signing EXCLUSIVE contract with American companies for major projects and engagements.
4. They then create a subsidiary abroad to fill in the open positions created by the contract with the American firms.
5. Then fill the positions in mainland US with their H1B visa employees form their subsidiary.
6. The jobs and consulting positions require Bachelors, sometime Masters and are most often not posted for application.
7. The cost of American Graduate labor is higher that of China, India, Taiwan, Bangladesh etc. So the automatic decision is cost and nothing but cost. This has nothing to do with Skill and/or qualification.

First of all, a little humanity and courtesy lesson, you should be nice to your guests.Don't blame them for your own problems, created by your very own people like your president, your congress etc. Who do you think all these laws, regulations coming from? H1 visa holders? Learn about your country's development history before you open your mouth.

Second of all, there is no such a thing like it is our country, as some historically retarded ppl claimed here. If you want to go back that far, you should go back to the Europe which you have been kicked out from or dragged here with great promises, and leave North America to its true owners, American Indians. Heard of them?? God, and I wonder why everybody around the world hates us more and more everyday. Thanks to my country men.

By the way well put, MIT guy. I don't care where you are, but I totally agree with your point of view. Trust me if every foreign national scientist gets offended and leaves US, the next war they are gonna fight will be probably with sticks.
