The key bit of this story on a number of conservative House Republicans howling — sorry, proceeding to the floor of the world’s second-greatest deliberative body and speaking in measured tones — for the resignation of Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano over the department’s right-wing extremism report would seem to be this:
House Minority Leader John Boehner (R-Ohio) declined to offer a comment on calls for Napolitano’s resignation.
Look, if Boehner doesn’t even want to comment, then it’s not happening. This should be called out for what it is: the far-right wing of the House GOP making the rest of the party look bad by doubling down on a faux controversy that the leadership only wanted to use for a news cycle of “defending the troops.”
To wit, here’s Rep. Michele Bachmann (R-Minn.) — who has called for opponents of the president to get “armed and dangerous” and publicly suggested that Obama wants to force young people into re-education camps — denying that right-wing extremism exists.

Maybe Dave Weigel could explain the “faux controversy” to the Dem Rep. who spoke out against the report; compare the full DHS report to his report from 2005.
Personally, I want Janet Napolitano to hang on as long as she can, Brownie-style.

What a wonderful talking point! However, from this:
While the DHS report focusing on the Right expansively and generally indicted groups opposing abortion, illegal immigration, and federalism, this report instead focuses on actual and specific extremist groups — groups who have a long history of domestic terrorism and violence

Der Fuhrer will last for 1,000 years! Michele Bachmann is nuts and these right wing losers should be put in prison for sedition and treason. It's what they would do to us if they were in power, and what Karl Rove did to many people who weren't sufficiently politically aligned with his fourth reich leanings. Time to let the pot dealers go home and buy pizza and put some nazis in the slammer. Jake and Elwood Blues had it right.

Bachmann is that a German name? Has anyone looked in her being a former concentration camp guard. Maybe when she came here, she lied on her immigration papers. I think I read somewhere on the interweb that she is a former Nazi concentration camp guard.

This all comes down to the Right Wing's general lack of reading comprehension skills. That Right Wing Extremists may oppose abortion does not mean those who oppose abortion are Right Wing Extremists.
Thank the gods Obama is investing in education. This country obviously sorely needs it.
