LAT’s Rosa Brooks to Advise Pentagon Undersecretary
Thursday, April 09, 2009 at 11:56 am
If you like liberal Los Angeles Times columnist Rosa Brooks’ material, you’re out of luck: via Mike Calderone, she’s on her way out of journalism to advise Undersecretary of Defense for Policy Michele Flournoy, though not before advocating a government bailout for the industry. It won’t be her first government job: she used to advise Harold Koh at the State Department during the Clinton administration, when Koh was assistant secretary for human rights and not the subject of a cynical smear campaign. For my part, check out this February column on Af-Pak, in which she agonizes over what can possibly be done in Afghanistan and comes down cautiously in favor of several of the strategic concepts that the Obama administration eventually embraced. It seems to capture the mood among progressives who’ve endorsed the Obama Af-Pak strategy pretty well.

This is madness. President Obama is going out of his way to pace Radical Progressives in power. Just look at her writings. President Obam is going out of his way to destroy those he is against. He does it quitely but obiviously – with a vengence. The future will tell, not my words.

Rosa Brooks should be in prison for treason. If this country survives the next four years it will be a miracle.

I agree 100% with you Keith. President Obama, please don't place Rosa Brooks in a position in which she has access to and influence on our Armed Services and it's protected information. Our Pentagon needs patriotic individuals who's #1 concern is protecting the lives of US citizens. Rosa Brooks has consistently demonstrated extremely liberal ideals. My sense is that she privately views our military with contempt. We hired you to protect us sir – please don't let us down.

Obama has done it again. He is hell bent on destroying the USA all the while smiling and giving speeches acting like he is trying to help us. Last week he appointed a communist. What is next. I hear he has almost 300 more positions to fill. Tom

She has absolutely zero experience in defense and military matters. Why would she be put in this position?

The next four years are going to be grand, yep. So, who's willing to begin protesting for the Impeachment papers with me if there is another terrorist attack within the next few years?

A newspaper reporter advising on defense matters?! Once again we see what the lack of experience brings us. When Obama fills these positions with less experienced people he is just surrounding himself with like kind, that way he can push the blame on someone else. Whiskey Tango Foxtrot!
