Steve Forbes Sort of Thanks Specter for Card Check Vote

On a conference call with Steve Forbes, who supported Pat Toomey over Sen. Arlen Specter (R-Pa.) in the 2004 Republican primary, I asked whether Specter’s switched vote against the Employee Free Choice Act gave conservatives a reason to re-elect him over Toomey or another candidate.

“I think that the primary voters will make that choice,” said Forbes. “That will be an issue in the primary, if there is a primary. But I don’t think it was a coincidence that there was a primary, and then there was an epiphany.”

“Politics works,” I said.

“Public opinion works,” said Forbes.

If Steve Forbs was president for the last 8 years we would not be in this mess.

Specter should drop the party elite if they don't like him and run independent. I would go with him as we need more pragmatists.
