Friend,

Check out "Treating Yourself" a journal published in Canada by and for those treating themselves with medicinal cannabis. Many strains have been developed to address specific health concerns. They also discuss various delivery systems that are condition-specific. There are others as well. The magazine needs professional editing but you can gets lots of info about medicinal use.

For a scientific discussion of how cannabis works in and with the body please go to this link. The article contains great information about the body's biofeedback loops called harm reduction programs. Good fortune finding help for your father.
http://www.harmreductionjournal.com/content/2/1/17

Bravo to these forward-thinking legislators. If it were only the freedom issue, that would be enough. The many environmental benefits of hemp make its continued prohibition tragic. Hemp can produce more paper acre-for-acre, than trees, and without chemical inputs. Oops! That just cut into somebody's BIG profits. Hemp's roots travel deep into the subsoil to refresh the soil's fertility. IT FERTILIZES ITSELF. Hempseed is a complete protein that is easily digested, high in fiber and Omegas 3 & 6. If it were legal to grow in America, this superior great-tasting protein source would be affordable instead of costing $16 a pound to import from somewhere else. George Washington said, "Make the most of the hemp seed. Sow it everywhere." I agree with George.

One thing your program "What If Marijuana Were Legal? Possible Out comes " left out was the effect legalized marijuana would have on the cultivation of industrial hemp which is now prohibited. If marijuana were legal hemp would also be legal. The prospect of legal hemp would bring far more income to farmers than marijuana as the products for hemp have far reaching social consequences hemp can be used as fuel, food, paper and fiber. In some parts of the nation hemp can be harvested three times a year. Hemp would replace many items that petroleum now produce. Such as nylon and plastics. The plastic would be of high quality and biodegradable. Marijuana and hemp are the same plant and should always be considered together when weighting the merits or demerits of legalization. The legalization of this plant would benefit all americans. One of those benefits being a lessening of our dependence on foreign oil. Another would be the environment as this plants products would be sustainable and benevolent to our exosphere. It would put farmers to work bring new economy and tax income. The effect of legalization would be felt on the industrial products of the plant and the benefits would far outweigh any problems associated with the drug.

The industrialization of this abundant use plant will help our future in so many ways it is unbelievable. Americans just need the correct information to be educated, this is neccesary because they are more open than ever. Fuel + Fiber + Food = Revenue

This is a topic that we as Americans cant afford to overlook or discontinue any longer. Marijuana is a fourteen and a half billion dollar a year illegal peice of our lives. Republicrate should maybe study the benefits of this idea before you sterotype it. Industrial hemp would be the begining of a new era in our country. It would create jobs and pump much needed funds into our struggling economy. Industrial hemp legalization would pave the way for legalizing marijuana for personal use as well I think. That would save our law enforcement millions of dollars and bring a new since of freedom back into this country. Marijuana was made illegal in the U.S. by conservatives who released propaganda about the plant through movies, newspapers, and magazine articles in the 1930's. In case any of you havent noticed that time period is over and we have the science now to back our case legalize it and rejuvinate this country and get this economy rolling and give our youth the same chance at success that we had

It isn't the marijuana plant that is used to get high, the bill clearly states "non-psychoactive hemp." The flower of the marijuana plant is what people dry and smoke to attain the high, this is strictly industrial hemp which is used to make anything from makeup, to clothes, rope, fuel, and a number of other things.
