Palin’s Unmarried Daughter Pregnant
Monday, September 01, 2008 at 12:58 pm
ANCHORAGE — Gov. Sarah Palin announced today that her unmarried 17-year-old daughter, Bristol, is pregnant and plans to marry the baby’s father, Politico reports. The couple plans to keep the baby.
The news clears up rumors that have been swirling on the Web — and in Anchorage bars — these last few days that Palin’s fifth child wasn’t her own, but her daughter’s. The theory was that Palin, a staunch pro-life conservative, faked giving birth to her 4-month-old son, Trig, to cover up the scandal. It seems the rumor, which we didn’t report here as there was no evidence to substantiate it, prompted the decision to release the news of the younger Palin’s pregnancy. One official told Reuters that the campaign was tired of the “mud-slinging and lies.”
Palin’s views on abortion have energized the evangelical wing of the Republican Party, who were wary of McCain’s stance on the issue, though he has said publicly he does not support abortion rights. Palin has told the media she doesn’t support elective abortions, even in the case of rape or incest. When she gave birth to her fifth child with Down syndrome, the pro-life movement considered her a true believer in the cause.
It will be interesting now to see how her support of her daughter will play with that group.

If Palin could not take care of her own daughter who is just a seventeen year old child. How could the cave woman do anything but bad for the country. And now we know she is also a blatant liar who was claiming that her daughter's child was hers, unbelievable.

Why would this news clear up the rumors about Palin's coverup? This may be the daughters second attempt at having a child.

Unlike you, we have compassion for the family as they try to maintain some privacy while you all gleefully drag the family and evangelicals through whatever mud you can. Thank you for reminding me why I'm a compassionate conservative.

I think it unfair to call this woman a “cave woman.
I trust that her recent child is hers. It seems interesting that the conservative christians are calling this a “personal family matter”, when they seem to be so willing to legislate other personal family issues!
This is a personal issue and as a democrat I respect the family's way of handling it. I think we should take lesson from this and that is… Politics should stay out of everyones bedroom!

What was that 1st comment? Can't you read? The baby with Downs is Gov. Palin's. I'm pretty sure there are HUNDREDS of great mothers who's daughters at age 17 are currently pregnant. I too was 17 once, I was just lucky enough to NOT get someone pregnant. I do wish I had the moral value at that age as I have now. This pregnancy has as much of an effect on her ability to be the President as does the fact that Obama's father left a family in Africa and started another in America, then went back to the African family while married to both women. Get a grip. Most of us want our children to have the moral fiber to turn away from sexual activity until they are married, so why can't we teach that?? Gov Palin will be a great asset to the White House.

Instead of running for office Sarah should stay home and take care of her brood!

Jay Baker,
do the math. It is physiologically impossible for the 17 yr old to have a 4 month baby, and be 5 months pregnant. That clears up the question.

I think it would be more important to consider:
- The abuse of power case unfolding on Palin in AK (Google wooten-gate)
- Her inability to select officials w/o a proper background search (leading to a appointees resignation on Sexual misconduct charges back in 2005.
-questionable association with lobbiests when mayor of Wassila AK
- And don't forget about the “bridge to nowhere.
And all this in a 4 day news cycle. What could be next?

Dave,
You said “It is physiologically impossible for the 17 yr old to have a 4 month baby, and be 5 months pregnant.” The question we should be asking ourselves is :is this child really pregnant now? Or is this made up to cover the true story?

“When she gave birth to her fifth child with Down syndrome…”
So does that mean that Palin has five children with Down syndrome – or that the fifth child was afflicted with Down syndrome?

The rumors of Sarah Palin's deception regarding Trig's birth may be true. Of course, 100% proof is needed before this issue is discussed again.
News to check/verify: in the video below at about 1:30 Does Bristol Palin appear briefly in this video as pregnant (and chubby) in early 2008? A birth by Bristol in April and her being pregnant now are both possible within the vague 4-5 month timeline. This video should be researched to determine the identity of the pregnant woman walking arm-in-arm with Sarah Palin. . .

Thanks for looking into this.

looks like her daughter to me!
But, hey.. who really cares about her daughter getting knocked up? The real issue is the old duesch Bag McCain didn't do his homework…
Oh, to be sure, there is more than just a little bastard that will be revealed

How old is the father? Can his age be verified? Was she underage and he an adult when they had sex together?
Were their hospital pictures when Sarah had Trigg?

There are many ways the McCain/Palin campaign could stop the rumors about Trig Palin's parentage. Yet, to my knowledge they haven't issued a denial of the story. In today's Washington Post, campaign officials complain about the press' treatment of Palin and her family. Concrete evidence that the baby is Sarah's would reinforce their criticism of the coverage they have received. Given the benefits to them and the ease of demonstrating Trig's parentage — they wouldn't have to go so far as to release medical records, the obstetrician's word would likely suffice — the fact that they haven't responded to the rumors is itself suspicious

Sarah Palin's mysteriously reckless behavior in the 24 plus hours before Trig's birth still asks some very curious questions. While in Texas did Sarah Palin receive a call that Bristol was in labor? That would explain why there was no rush to get medical attention. Why were no records of a Palin birth at Mat Su clinic. found for april 18th? Does Trig really have Down Syndrome or is that just a red herring to make the 44 yr. old Sarah more likely to be the mother? What an opportunity for a miracle cure through prayer later! Is Bristol really pregnant now? Sarah Palin has lied about her support for the “Bridge to Nowhere” before it became an embarrassment. She has lied about her abuse of power concerning Troopergate. Those two points are enough to base a decision on. We could just leave Bristol and Trig out of it.

Nobody seems to consider the possibility that she may have tried to “kill” the 5th child by acting so unbelievably carelessly after her water broke – if it was her child that is.

Hummmm,
If it is true, and of course it is possible. The republicans should evaluate their stance on “personal issues”. Take note of quote below. It may come back to bite them.
“The smearing of the Palin family must end. The allegations contained on the cover of the National Enquirer insinuating that Gov. Palin had an extramarital affair are categorically false. It is a vicious lie,” said McCain senior adviser Steve Schmidt.
I switched affiliations when the Republicans made it their business to make bedroom issues part of their political agenda. When will they learn.
The worm has turned.
