It's fascinating (1) how many people cannot distinguish between the United States and the rest of the world. What is under discussion is whether an international currency should exist, not whether the US should adopt an international currency for domestic use and (2) how the republicans are using this to create fear and division.

This would be funny if these people weren't running the country. How do people this dumb get elected to office? They don't even know what “reserve currency” means but want to pass laws “regulating” it? And somehow this is related to parental rights????

So, what will emerge to replace the GOP? Clearly what exists under that banner now has become less than pointless.

I'm glad to see Republican Pete Hoekstra acknowledges that Elian Gonzalez should have been returned to his father in Cuba, just as the Clinton Administration and AG Janet Reno had said he should. Just wondering, what was Hoeskstra's position on the matter 10 years ago?

I must have missed something. What does a “world currency” have to do with parental rights?

And why does Pete think folks would vote for him for governor? I have a hard time believing Michiganders voted him senator, they just can't be dumb enough to do that, they read in Michigan.
