How are you helping people by suggesting they work for less than the area standard for their craft. These rates are based on highly qualififed electricians who are together in their demand for compensation in return for their skills. Also, with their fringe benefits, they and their families are not a burden on society, which I am sure you bitch about somewhere else on the internet. <br>You idiots can't have it both ways. By the way, not only am I am Union Electrician, but I am an fully trained Apprenticeship Instructor, and Union Organizer. I am fully open, what do you do? How much do you make? Where are you coming from?

Don't assume all union workers are well trained and all non-union workers are not. Construction codes, licensing, permiting, and inspections are put in place to protect the consumer. A union card is NOT a license nor does it prove competance. Non-union construction workers account for 80 to 85% of all construction work completed. Many union contractors only survive on prevailing wage work because they simply aren't competetive in the private market place.....So all this money getting pumped into the economy, at the expense of the taxpayer (most of which are not union members) will be spent in a very inefficient way.
